Nicky began beating on things with sticks at an early age. In order to protect the neighborhood pets, his parents bought him his first drum kit when he was nine. By 13, he was drumming with local bar bands.
By the time he reached 18, Nicky had played drums all over the south in countless bands. During those years, he also developed his talent for singing harmonies as well as his ability to sing lead while playing drums, a rare skill among percussionists.
A seasoned entertainer by early adulthood, Nicky became a local legend for both his rock-solid groove and his wacky, over-the-top stage antics.
Both skills came in handy in his work as the drummer/vocalist for some of the South’s biggest bands.
Nicky performed, wrote and recorded with New Orleans pop sensation Krush UK, a band often praised for its “updated, Beatlesque” sound.
In addition, he was a founding member (and mastermind behind) incredibly popular cover bands The Molly Ringwalds and The Animal Krackers (see our “Links” page for info about both).
Along the way, Nicky has shared the stage with such acts as Rick Springfield, Pat Benatar, The Fixx, Missing Persons, Howard Jones, Cowboy Mouth, the Pussycat Dolls, Better Than Ezra and Clarence Gatemouth Brown.
